Our story here began with a passion for wine and buying the vineyard in 1999. After years of travelling and working outside Australia and with backgrounds in biology and chemical engineering, we were ready to get our hands dirty and follow a long planned dream. Tasmania was developing a reputation as Australia’s premier Pinot Noir, Riesling and Sparkling wine producing area and this vineyard was already winning gold medals at the local wine shows for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling.

Fifteen years later, we are proud of what we produce and love what we do. We enjoy working in the vines, making the wine and the finished product!

In the vineyard we hand prune and shoot thin each vine as we aim for perfection. All our grapes are hand picked and selected from the vineyard to produce our single site Coal Valley Vineyard wines.

Our aim is to make really good wines from our true cool climate site. Wines that reflect the unique terroir of this place and enhance the varietal characteristics of each wine.
