Cool climate premium
wines
Our aim is to produce premium quality cool
climate wines. We are proud of a hands on approach in the vineyard
that ensures the best quality fruit possible is grown and used to make
our wine. The Coal Valley Vineyard totals 5 hectares and includes the
varieties of Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot
and Tempranillo. The original vineyard was planted in 1991 and the first
vintage was 1995.

All wine sales are direct from the cellar door only

The
Vineyard
The Coal Valley Vineyard is on a steep to very steep north facing slope
and includes about three hectares of Pinot Noir. The soil is light sandy
loam on a sandstone base.
Cellar
door wine tastings and sales
The
cellar door and restaurant are open
four days a week, Thursday through to Sunday from 9.00 am for wine sales,
breakfast, coffee and lunch from noon. The restaurant is closed for the
winter from July to September but a snack menu is available in the cellar
door.
Tastings are offered at the bar or you are welcome to take a seat on the
terrace or in the restaurant and enjoy a flight of wines while you enjoy
the spectacular view and wonderful ambience of the Coal Valley Vineyard.
